Something tells me that for the upcoming sequel Inside Out 2 , Riley Anderson- now 13 and in high school, and probably a now-standout hockey player, given that one of the confirmed roles is the head of the summer hockey camp- will have a crush on a girl, and the major conflict of the film will be her mom's gradual acceptance. There are a few things I've noticed that back up this theory: 1. One of the roles that's been confirmed is Valentina "Val" Ortiz, a popular hockey player at Riley's school, voiced by Lilimar Hernandez (as an aside, this probably means that the boy we saw at the end of Inside Out probably won't have a big role in this film). 2. The only parental emotion that's been revealed so far is Mom's Anger, voiced by Paula Pell.
