Grab Bag #3

I'd like to see a Zoom reunion with the Pitch Perfect 3 cast to get a career update after the final film in the trilogy in 2017. How's Flo's juice cart business coming along? How's Emily's songwriting career? How did Cynthia-Rose do in flight school? 

There are a couple of reasons I'd rename the Lightning Thief TV show from "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" to "The Half-Blood Chronicles". The current logo/title reminds me too much of the awful movie adaptations, the new title introduces the demigod world as bigger then just as how Percy sees it, and it opens the door to tie-in adventures related to Egyptian (Kane Chronicles), Norse (Magnus Chase) and even African and Korean and Mayan mythology. 

If the Harry Potter books get adapted into a TV show, there are two big moments I'd keep out of season six- Ginny tying Harry's shoelaces and the Death Eaters destroying the Burrow. I'd also keep Dumbledore's death the way it was in the book. 

I think that Jeff Smith would be a good choice for lead writer for the Bone animated series. 

If a Greatest Showman musical is actually made, I want Zendaya, Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron as part of the premiere cast. 

I know the Moana series won't be released for the next two years, but I'd like to see Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson return to their roles as Moana and Maui, respectively.

Thoughts on the Far from Home trailer

I might see where the " Far from Home " title comes in. Maybe the plot of the movie involves Peter dealing with multiversal shenanigans to try to get his friends and family to remember him again. Maybe it's that Peter's "far from home" in a literal sense- MJ, Ned and Aunt May don't remember him any more.  Is there a Loki connection? Maybe this is where we get the explanation for multiple Peter Parkers and the villains from previous Spider-Man franchises. Maybe they were the Spider-Men/villains on pruned timelines (and maybe this'll be the in-universe explanation in the movie- not any drama related to studios or lack of box office revenue or the actors or what-have-you reasons for why the previous iterations stopped at two movies each- their timelines were simply pruned/stopped).  We might also see a wasteland-type thing with multiple Doc Ock variants like we saw with Alligator/Kid/Classic/Boastful Loki. What should be in the Lightning Thief TV series? (SPOILER WARNING)

Fair warning- this is all essentially a giant spoiler for those of you that haven't read all ten books.  LOOK AWAY NOW SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER You have been warned. Okay. *Geographic casting- Richmond, Virginia for Annabeth; NYC, New York for Percy; Phoenix, Arizona for Clarisse, etc. *A one-take rule for all scenes- you don't get do-overs on your lines in real life   1. The raft that Percy and Annabeth ride to Circe's Island in Sea of Monsters should be the same raft that picks Leo up from Calypso's island in House of Hades . 2. For the scene in Lightning Thief where Luke uses his switchblade to scrape some mud off the sole of his sandal, he should open two blades- he should open and close a bronze blade before opening and using a steel blade. Should there be a Harry Potter the Series?

Long story short, it would be one book per season and one chapter per episode. The biggest argument people would have against it would be that it would recast the characters, and my suggestion would be to have the original HP actors intimately involved with casting to help somewhat assuage concerns. Reason 1: A lot of good book moments were left out of the films. Harry's more snarky side, Harry and Ginny's relationship, "there's no need to call me 'sir', professor"; characters like Justin Creevey and Demelza Robins, Percy reconciling with his family, Voldemort's backstory, etc. Reason 2: Voldemort's death was better in the books. In the Deathly Hallows book, Voldemort just keels over backwards. His movie death is a lot grander than he deserved. Reason 3: Some movie moments were just unnecessary. Like in the Half-Blood Prince: Ginny didn't need to tie Harry's shoelace and the Death Eaters didn't need to set the Burrow on fire.
